• Internet via satellite, Africa’s online lifeline from space

    40 Per cent of the African geography is not covered by cellular towers. About 150 million Africans have no internet connection. Having no network means being isolated.     Russian satellite operator RSCC and the European service provider, Castor Networks, have entered into an agreement to provide satellite communications services using RSCC spacecraft Express-AM8 (14˚ W). The new satellite capacity will enable to expand the growing business of Castor Networks in the maritime industry and support the existing contracts with private mining and energy companies in Africa.p>

Yamal-402 is uplinked through our 9m Ku-band antenna in Teleport Burum in the Netherlands wich is also serving as a monitoring station for Gazprom.

    Castor Networks launches VSAT services on Arabsat 5c C-band covering Africa, Middle East including Afghanistan. With the addition of the Arabsat 5c footprint, Castor Networks now offers an alternative look angle to its NSS-12 C-band service. Arabsat 5c C-band allows the use of 1.8m C-band antenna’s.
